Out and about

Post by John Frankland »

After a weekend off from birding to attend a stag do in Portugal (!!) and missing out on the ouzel and woodpecker weekend, I thought I had better do some catching up !

Croston Twin Lakes
Hirundine flock of c30 was mainly feeding *Swallow and included a few *Sand Martin too
Goldcrest singing by sewage works

Wymott area
*Willow Warbler 1 in song
*Blackcap 1 in song
Chiffchaff 3-4 in song
Bullfinch 1m

Holker Lane
Curlew 4
LBB Gull 90
Herring gull 10

Pity Albufeira wasn’t in Chorley as I would have added 11 new ones to my Chorley year list including such beauties as Ajure Winged Magpie, Red-Rumped Swallow and Serin !

As it is, 4 *new ones today takes me to 113 species for the year.
