Anglezarke

Post by Paul Hodson »

A rather bracing hike around the moors and reservoirs today, apart from a Kestrel battling against the wind over the moors and a party of Long Tailed Tits in Lead Mine Clough most bird sightings were on the reservoirs.

Yarrow Reservoir. Goosander 13. Lesser Black Backed Gull 11.

Upper Rivington Reservoir. Greylag Goose 10. Goosander. Great Crested Grebe 2. Cormorant 14. Grey Heron 5. Buzzard. Sparrowhawk. Pied Wagtail 2. Oystercatcher 2.

Anglezarke Reservoir. Goosander 2. Canada Goose 2. Mallard 20. Great Crested Grebe. Pochard. Moorhen. Oystercatcher 2. Lapwing 3. Mistle Thrush 2. Jay 3.

Several large clumps of frogspawn in the ditches between Waterman's and White Coppice
