White Coppice

Post by peter rowlands »

Very quiet at White Coppice this morning, well, wildlife that is. Pair of Mute Swans, 2 female Goosanders, 4 Canada Geese, Mallards and a Coot on res just past white cottages on the right - Can`t remember the name of it. Very few other birds around although several Redwings were in a tree next to the nursery.

I had a walk 1530hrs to 1700hrs on Sunday. From Brinscall up Well Lane, cut across south of the woods and down to the Goit and back to Brinscall. Saw a male & female Goosander on the large pond half-way between Brinscall and White Coppice - I don't know the name of this pond, its used by anglers.
Apart from the usual birds, nothing unusual noted. No raptors at this time, earlier had seen a buzzard mobbed by about 12 corvids.
