There are one or two singing near me at the moment, and when I was out delivering Newsletters this afternoon, there were Song Thrushes singing at every stop I made. It's strange how you never seem to see them during winter and then when they start singing, they seem to be everywhere. I'm not sure how the powers that be decided that they needed to be Red listed.

Apparently due to a 50% decline in 38 years -and possibly this is mainly in monoculture SE England -and with loss of hedgerows too, ST are much less common nationally. Amazing but I read somewhere that they were once more common than blackbirds!
