Croston Moss am - Nice to meet Gary and Neville. In addition to Gary's post I noted at least 10 Whooper Swans on Lock meadow, 35 Pink Footed Goose in fields and then more flew over. 2 Stonechat, several Meadow Pipit, 1 Common Buzzard, at least 6 Corn Bunting with Linnet flock in a tree, several Tree Sparrow and lots of Reed Bunting in double Hedge along with some Yellowhammer, Goldfinch and Chaffinch; Starling on overhead wires, Pheasant.
Close views of a Mink along the sluice adjacent Shepherds Lane. Large flock of Lapwing, 150+ in air above River Douglas. As Gary noted there was a tremendous number of Skylark 300 to 400 on the ploughed fields.
Lower Burgh Meadow late morning - 6 Common Snipe, 1 Jack Snipe, 3 Pheasant (2m & 1f) and 2 Reed Bunting.
Chorley Cemetery - Blue Tit, Great Tit, Woodpigeon, Carrion Crow, Robin, Goldcrest heard. Oyster fungi on dead tree stump (first seen last Sunday). 1 Grey Squirrel.
Whooper Swan, Grey Partridge, Stonechat and Jack Snipe takes my Chorley Area species total to 87.
