Croston Finney

Post by John Frankland »

Fabulous circular walk at dusk around Croston Finney, half an hour either side of sunset.

Given the time of day, it was quiet with the highlight being c200 Pink-footed Geese feeding. 5 distant swans on Loch Meadow could have been Whooper.

250 Corvids and a couple of Kestrel completed the cast.

At 525pm driving back along Meadow Lane, a great view of a *Barn Owl which crossed in front of the car was a treat. A second probable Barn Owl close to the sewage works wasn’t 100% as confirmed as I just caught something pale in the corner of my eye.

* Barn Owl takes me to 94 species for the year.
