Tinckler's Lane fields - Croston Twin Lakes\Sewage Works

Post by Neville Root »

7.30am - Tinckler's Lane fields: very mild but blowy conditions resulted in not a lot. Not frosty enough for snipe. A few redwing, pheasant and corvids was about it.
9.00am - Twin Lakes & sewage works: BH gull (50), herring gull (2), GC grebe (2), cormorant, tufted duck (6) on the ponds, pied wagtail (several on ploughed fields), mistle thrush, flushed a green sandpiper from behind the sewage works into the ploughed field containing a little egret (v diminutive next to the egret). Tracked the sandpiper round to another ditch where it joined another green sandpiper, linnet (50), chaffinch and tit flocks, reed bunting.

Green sandpiper and jay brings Chorley species total for the year to 71
