White Coppice to Brinscall

Post by Neil Southworth »

Walked the Goit from White Coppice to Brinscall but didn't find the Little Egret until I reached the culverted section, where it was pottering out just in front of the outlet. It flew off back towards White Coppice as soon as it saw me, and then I followed it as far as the end of Heatherlea Woods before I lost it. There was also a Dipper along the Heatherlea Woods stretch.

No.5 lodge held a pair of Mute Swan, 6 Canada Geese and a Coot
No 3 lodge held a single Mute Swan, a dozen Mallard, 4 Tufted Duck (1m and 3 f), a pair of Goosander and a Moorhen

For the record a Mistle Thrush was singing at Rivington yesterday.
