Winter Hill & Anglezarke

7.30am - on top of Winter Hill for first light after a report of a short-eared owl. However, nothing to report other than 2 crows and also heard a red grouse on the Manc side (as usual).
8.30am - walk around the eastern side of Anglezarke Res: BH-LBB gull on res, cormorant (2), goldeneye* (m) on High Bullough Res, pochard* (m), crow eating a dead bird in a tree circled by a sparrowhawk that presumably had killed it, bullfinch* (pr), treecreeper* (2), nuthatch, GT-Bl-LT*-coal* tit
10.00am -Bagganley Lane/Heapey Lodges: goosander* (m), tufted duck, redwing (8), kestrel, collared dove*, house sparrow*
and in tree behind my house (N Gillibrand) - goldcrest*

Mammal: roe deer (5 off Bagganley Lane & 1 at Anglezarke)

10 new one's today brings current Chorley species total is 52
