Out and about

9.30am - went looking for the goshawk around Sandy Lane and nearby woods, near to where Len saw it the other day. Got a glimpse of a large raptor's brown back amongst the trees, but there were several buzzards about. Worth a return visit. Sightings include kestrel, sparrowhawk, gr heron, corvids, fieldfare, redwing, pied & grey wagtail, LT tit flock, bullfinch.
Brief lunchtime visit to a cold Eyes Lane - good numbers of shelduck, whoopers, BH gull, lapwing, starling, woodpigeon and mallard. Also LBB gull, heron, kestrel, buzzard.
Visited Syd Brook at dusk looking for a woodcock for the year list, no luck but saw a tawny owl calling to another calling tawny from a house roof as daylight went.
