Bretherton eyes floods .

The sun took a while to break through the mist this morning but as usual there was plenty of birds about , skeins of pinkfoot passing over , 40 + whoopers on the flood , around 100 lapwing , bh gulls , 1 lbb gull , 1 snipe in flight , a redshank was feeding on the small pool to the left of the main flood , great white egret was feeding in the long grass behind the small pool , 2 shelduck , small numbers of mallard , goosander and cormorant on the river , grey wagtail , heard kingfisher , 2 heron , 1 peregrine , 2 buzzard , skylarks , plenty of small stuff in the hawthorn hedgerow lots of chaffinches , 3 yellowhammer , reed buntings , 5 tree sparrow , 2 corn bunting , wren , robin , blackbirds , song thrush looks a great spot to start a feeding station this winter :) .

Late afternoon visit ( put some wild bird seed down near to the gate opening at red bridge ) kingfisher and 12 corn buntings were the highlights .

Afternoon before and during the shooting.

GWE seen before it moved from the shooting area over the Douglas.

Goosander 1f
Buzzard 1
Sparrowhawk 1f
Kingfisher and Corn Bunting (same as Gary) together with 1 Yellowhammer.

Shooters did flush one Woodcock but not seen by me - only Pheasant, partridge species and Snipe (shooters missed must Snipe but got a few Pheasant).

Several thousand Pink Feet towards Mawdesley moss.

Wymott Ponds - Teal 5 in roadside pond towards former tip.
