Withnell fold flashes .
Highlight in the rain was the large numbers of snipe ( 70+ ) viewed quite easily from the toe path also 1 green sandpiper , 6 moorhen , plenty of mallards and teal , lapwing flock still on back field ( no sign of ruff ) , 1 heron , 3 swallow , small house martin flock , heard goldcrest .

Late afternoon. Mallards. B/G LT Tits. Lots of Lapwings, Starlings and Crows. A few Swallows flying around. 1 Mistle Thrush. just 6 Snipe seen. Teal. Green Sandpiper. Wood Pigeons. 2 Jays. 3 Buzzards and a Kestrel.

12.30-1.15pm - similar to previous days. 50+ snipe many frequently in the air, single ruff on the flash, no sign of green sandpiper. Calling buzzard and sparrowhawk (heard). Good numbers of corvids, woodpigeon, swallow, lapwing, starling on the fields (and yet more snipe) and similarly mallard and teal on the flashes.
