Post by John Edwards »

6-00a.m. to 8-00a.m. Very quiet birdwise not a single Mallard or any other water - birds seen or heard (not a Quack!) on the Yarrow, though the vegetation is quite high in some places. 3 Willow Warblers singing, 2 on Tincklers fields and 1 on north side of river. Other birds seen 1 Buzzard, 1 Kestrel, 6 Linnets, 2 Yellowhammers, 2 Moorhen, 6 Canada Geese, 1 Reed Bunting, c20 Swallows and 5 House Martins, about 20 House Martins have been seen most days this week (when it hasn't been raining) near to Anchorfields where 2 or 3 pairs nested.
