Withnell Fold flashes and canal.

Two or three Robins were back in song, so not quite as quiet as last week. There were also several young Wrens seeping in the undergrowth. An upsetting sight was an apparently dead Brown Hare lying in a field which had recently been treated with weedkiller. Sightings:-
Canada Goose c50, Mallard c20, Moorhen, RL Partridge, Pheasant, Buzzard 4 or 5, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, Lapwing c80, Little Owl, GS Pecker, Pied Wagtail, Swallow (light but steady passage), Starling c100, Chiffchaff, Nuthatch, mixed corvids 150+, Tree Sparrow 6, Goldfinch
Butterflies:- GV White 5-10, Gatekeeper <5
