7.30-10.15 - 2 hunting barn owls (in the fields nr the depot) one caught a vole, little owl (2) both calling loudly (probably because of the nearby barn owls), peregrine flew overhead to roost on a pylon, sparrowhawk flying towards Rufford, kestrel, grey partridge (4), swallow (15), pied wagtail, skylark, several of whitethroat, yellowhammer & reed bunting, single calling corn bunting.
Lepidoptera: red admiral, small tortoiseshell, meadow brown
Odonata: possible emperor (photo to follow)

Sightings pretty much the same as Neville's apart from a couple of Rabbits and 5 Brown Hare.

This is the dragonfly Paul and I struggled to identify. Apologies for it's poor quality - phone camera and the light was fading. I thought it was maybe an emperor but it's size probably indicates it wasn't, any ideas?

It's a female Emperor. For reference, Southern Hawkers would be showing more black markings on the body as well as the tail.
