An evening stroll at Belmont and a quick stop at Rivington.

Belmont
Quite surprised that the spring mud & good wader edges which attracted the Ringed Plover were nowhere to be seen with high water levels. Then I remembered that this is summer ........

Common Sandpiper 1 heard
Great Crested Grebe 4 incl 1 well grown juvenile
Moorhen 2
Blackcap 1 singing
Willow Warbler 1 singing
Reed Bunting 1m
Canada Goose c50
Greylag Goose 1
Barnacle Goose 1
LBB Gull 3
Swift 6
Swallow 2
House Martin 5
Mallard 20
BH Gull thousands !
Pied Wagtail 2
Meadow Pipit 2

Highlight was a Stoat that successfully ran from the Reservoir wall across the A675 (thanks to the brakes on a red BMW !)

Rivington Reservoir
Water levels lower than Belmont but quite quiet.
