Post by John Frankland »

Lovely evening stroll from Great Hanging Bridge on the rectangular walk on Croston Finney/Moss via Sumners Lane, Moss Lane and Finney Lane.

Met by the Little Owl on fence posts as I parked up before it flew to a tree by the works depot.

Also seen/heard:
Grey Partridge 1
Red-legged Partridge 1
Skylark 2 singing
Corn Bunting 2 including 1 singing
Yellowhammer 4 singing
Whitethroat 2 singing
Reed Bunting 3 singing
Chiffchaff 1 singing
Tree Sparrow 10-12
Mistle Thrush 9 (7+2)
Song Thrush 2
LBB Gull 10
Goldfinch 2
Moorhen 1
Kestrel 1
Buzzard 1
Lapwing 5

Also saw a Painted Lady and a couple of Hares.

Then saw 2 Little Owls as I returned to the car - 1 on the perimeter fence of the work depot and 1 on telegraph poles by the bridge.
