No sign of the dippers or kingfishers at Hoghton Bottoms this year.

Lapwing nests destroyed by farmers grass cutting and muck spreading......yet again.

A few brown hare around. Wren nesting in a hole in a gatepost, and plenty of nuthatches and greater spotted woodpeckers in the garden.

One of my neighbours is insistent that a pair of red kites have been feeding on the fields by Chapel Lane. I believe him but want to see them myself.
