White Coppice - Anglezarke
Late evening visit - while chatting to Paul Hodson we saw 3 spotted flycatchers make an appearance, showing well in trees (almost at water level) overlooking the north end of the reservoir just beyond Waterman's (8.45-9.15). One of the flycatchers almost appeared to roost (female?) and was fed by another one (male?). All 3 were scattered by, we think, an attempted sparrowhawk attack that was halted when it saw us. Also curlew, little owl calling (10.15), grey wagtail, redpoll, blackcap, garden warbler (behind pavilion). Still no appearance of roding woodcock.
