On a lunchtime visit today I saw a terrapin the size of a small horse on the wooden plank leading up to the smaller (unfenced) tern raft, on which was Canada goose egg (that had failed), cue two men in a boat with a net trying to catch what proved to be a evasive terrapin (apparently they have caught 3 others recently). Other sightings similar to Nora's yesterday, although no terns present, but there was a pair of Mandarins on the Yarrow and a couple of house martins over the main lodge.

House martin (surprised I've not seen them around the North Gillibrand eaves yet) takes Chorley species total for the year to 123.
