A total of 8 Whimbrel with 5 flying over Doctors Lane, over the cricket pitch and landing on the Syd Brook fields, the other 3 on the field before Anchorfields. A Tawny Owl was my first this year ( Chorley list 86) also seen 1 Mistle Thrush, 1 Red Legged Partridge, 5 Willow Warbler, 2 Linnets, 2 Moorhen, 2 Coot, 10 Mallard, 8 Canada Geese, 2 Curlew, 1 Common Whitethroat, 2 Oystercatcher, 3 Chiffchaff, 2 Wheatear, 2 Yellowhammer, 8 Blackbirds, 3 Blue Tits, 9 Chaffinch, 4 Rooks, 8 Black Headed Gulls, 14 Lesser Black Backed Gulls, 3 Wrens, 6 Pheasant, 5 Robins, 2 Stock Doves, 11 Lapwings, 2 Pied Wagtails, 4 Starlings and a Jay. The only mammal seen was a single Grey Squirrel.
