Mason Bees

Post by phil kirk »

I have put up several "bee hotels" in the hope of getting more bees around the garden. Today I noiced dozens of these bees, which I am fairly sure are Red Mason Bees (Osmia rufa) - they are going in and out of gaps in my roof tiles - treating my roof as a giant bee hotel There's gratitude for you.

Red Mason Bees are classed as super-pollinators by some sources, so they may pay you back in time. Just a thought, but did you have to go through some strange Russian ceremony to get them there in the first place!
