Thx to the NATS posters looks like the hirundines have arrived today, so made unplanned late visit to the Twin Lakes.
5.15- 6.15 River Douglas (Pumping Station): cormorant, gr heron, mute swan (2), shelduck (2), buzzard, possible merlin (v fast & v small flying away - aren't they always - towards Rufford), oystercatcher, lapwing, BH - LBB gull, stock dove (2), pied wagtail, reed bunting.
6.15 -6.30 Eyes Lane\R Douglas: GC grebe, teal (single), mallard, goosander (m & f), 12 released pheasants only birds on the dried out former floods.
6.30-7.15 Twin Lakes: GC grebe, mallard, moorhen, snipe, woodpigeon, sand martin (10-12), swallow (at least 2) + plenty of insects, wren, robin, blackbird, fieldfare, song thrush (3), mistle thrush, chiffchaff (singing nr to the Croston footy hut), goldcrest, goldfinch (5), linnet (4).

The 3 additional Spring migrant brings my Chorley total to 93.
