Fields near to yarrow Eccleston/Croston area .

27 curlew dropped in at 9.00am from the west and built up to 30+ during the day ( moving around several fields ) , 6 shelduck , several canada geese , pair of greylag geese flew over , kestrel , buzzard and sparrowhawk again , stock dove , pied wagtail , 1 male goosander , 5 jay flying together , small numbers of meadow pipit passing through , cormorant , heron , rabbits and a hare .
Greylag goose takes me up to 98 species .

23 curlew dropped in this morning from the direction of ulnes walton i assume these birds are roosting on the coastal marshes and feeding on the open fields by day before moving onto their breeding grounds .
