Got there at first light this morning , few crows about , pheasant , heard a red grouse , several meadow pipit in song , skylarks in song , 1 curlew grounded , highlight was flushing a woodcock near to a dry stone wall .
Geogrges lane , several lesser redpoll , siskin and 4 crossbill ( flying towards the pike) , several meadow pipit in song , pair of stonechat , 1 raven , robins in song and a chaffinch .
red grouse , lesser redpoll and crossbill brings my chorley list up to 97 species .
