Bretherton eyes floods .

Quick visit this morning in heavy rain , single black tailed godwit feeding with 2 lapwing on the first main flood , 80 lapwing on the second main flood , 3 mute swan on open fields , 2 oystercatcher along the river .

Gary,

Are the fields still flooded ?

A culvert down Dawson Lane was blocked this morning and caused the road and the adjoining field to flood.

Water levels have dropped alot but there is enough for the waders .

Popped along to Eyes Lane this lunchtime - no waders, but big flocks of lapwing, BH gulls, fieldfare and starling (last 2 in the ploughed field), also mute swan (3), Canada goose over, shelduck (4), buzzard, oystercatcher (4), pied wagtail, reed bunting. On the R Douglas 2 goosander (M & f), moorhen, mallard and gr wagtail.

Wish I'd known you were going Neville. It would have saved me a trip! My sightings:-
Mute Swan 3, Shelduck 4, Mallard 6, Goosander 4 (2 pairs), Moorhen 7, Buzzard min 4, Pheasant min 6, RL Partridge 12, Lapwing 120, Oystercatcher 2, BH Gull 200, Skylark 2, Pied Wagtail 2, Fieldfare c50, Starling 200
