Bretherton eyes floods .

Even more water about after last night,s rain , hundreds of bh gulls , herring and a gbb gull, plenty of mallard , 8 shellduck , 35 lapwing , 1 buzzard , 7 goosander on the douglas .

I must have been slightly after you, Gary. I nearly turned back when I saw the flood at the top of Eyes Lane, but took a chance and drove through. It couldn't have been too bad because cyclists were going through it.
Most of my sightings were similar, but the Lapwing flock numbered around 60 and there was a single Golden Plover. Across the river there were 250 Pinkfeet feeding over towards the A59 and just about within the area. Not much small stuff on view - just a few Skylark and Pied Wagtails plus a flock of about 100 Starling

Do you need golden plover for your year list neil ?

You're right, Gary. Golden Plover takes me to 128. Now find me a Whooper Swan!
