Astley Park
The pair of Mute Swans was showing an interest in the nesting platform. The female was curled up on the nest, then after she left, the male went on and shooed a reluctant Coot away. Also on the water was a pair of Little Grebe and a Lesser Black-backed Gull with the Black-headeds. There was plenty of activity around the small rookery. Nuthatches were very noisy in the woods, and a Goldcrest was singing on the edge.
