Leaving Buckshaw past Parcelforce Depot towards Seaview pub and a cuckoo flew in front of the car. Does wonders for the mental health. 10 years in Buckshaw and first cuckoo.

Maybe it was checking out the small reedbeds in the area .

Maybe. It definitely made my day, that's for sure. Only the second i've ever seen. First was last year at White Coppice.
