Banks Marsh & Marshside
Sunny and clear on Banks Marsh, although birds (as is usual here) were distant - mainly pink foots, lapwing and wigeon, lesser numbers of dunlin and redshank. Marsh harrier took out a redshank, with peregrine and perched merlin close by. Hundreds of whooper on the fields towards Marshside, where there was a raptor watch behind the old sand works - ringtail and 3rd/4th year male hen harrier both hunting, several merlin, more marsh harriers, kestrel, buzzard, peregrine - only a sprawk was missing.
