I had an early morning visit to see a few special birds ( from the Eric Morecambe and Allen hides). The Spotted Redshank in breeding plumage and the Spoonbill were a no show, as was the Green Winged Teal, but I did manage to see a very distant American Wigeon and a Knot beginning to develop its summer plumage. Lots of Avocet around, some on eggs.
