Rosy Starling in St Helens
Birding tour round West Lancs drew us to the young Rosy Starling behind Frydays Chip Shop in St Helens. Incredibly confiding and not bothered by its appreciative audience. New tick for Simon
This was followed by stops at Martin Mere and Marshside. Ruff and Black Tailed Godwit showed off in front of the hides. Lancashire 2017 bird report duly purchased. Marsh Harrier and Peregrine hunting at Marshside over the numerous Geese, Egrets and Ducks flying around. Adult Mediterranean Gull by the marine lake in Southport. So close I even got a picture on my phone!- Attachments

I couldn't resist following your example and went to see it today. It was as close a 4ft at times taking mealworms, a lifer for me.

Sad news today, the bird has been taken by a Sparrowhawk.
