Three Sisters

Post by peter rowlands »

An afternoon on the Three Sisters Nature Reserve today. Heard the Tawny Owl call in three different areas, one call being on the path I was walking along. Eventually I saw two of them high up on the tree top. Also good views of a common Buzzard, Grey Heron and a Kingfisher from the hide. Lots of BH Gulls on the lake with Mallard , Mute Swans, Canada Geese, Coot, Moorhens and a Male Goosander. Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Dunnock, Robin, B/G and Coal Tit plus a Willow Tit at the feeding station, that was until a Sparrowhawk came in and tried to catch one.
Lot of Common Darters and a Fox also seen.
