Spent the day on the reserve yesterday. The mist & fog stayed for most of the day making for poor visibility. 300plus Whoopers & 10,000 Pinks, down on last year(I was told). Lots of Common Gulls & Lapwings. M/Swans, Snipe, Ruff, Widgeon, Teal, Pintails, Gadwall, Shelduck, Tuftys, Coot, Moorhen, Kingfisher, Pheasant, Blackbird, Raven, C/Crow, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Tree Sparrows, Dunnock, Wren, B/G Coal Tits, 1 Kestrel, 2 Buzzards & 4 Marsh Harriers also seen.

Very Quiet today (people wise) the raptors can be very productive during a dry spell of heavy rain & that came late afternoon & not to disappoint out they came. At least 4 maybe 5 Marsh Harriers. Kestrel. Buzzard. Peregrine flyover & a Male Sparrowhawk devouring its prey on a post in front of the UU Hide. Also Kingfisher preening at the back of RB Hide with a Little Grebe close by catching fish for fun, & as the light began to fade the Starling murmuration from the Harrier Hide made a wet day into an enjoyable one.
