Stanley Park Blackpool 30-5-15

Post by peter rowlands »

Plenty of bird activity on the park yesterday. Usual small birds some with young. Juvenile Herons around the lake near the Heronry, some young still being fed on the nest. A family of Magpies being very vocal & a pair of Ravens being equally as loud. Lots of gull. BH Gulls. LBB Gulls. Herring Gulls. Coots with young. 2 pairs of Canada Geese with young & good numbers of Swallows & House Martins Skimming across the lake. But the highlight for me was being attracted to the calls of a GS Woodpecker feeding its young.
