Visited Croston Moss this morning looking for the Hen Harrier which I failed to find though sightings of 30+ Golden Plover, several Linnets, and a pair of Grey Partridge bring my Chorley list to 72. A late visit to see the Barn Owl tonight ( 5 - 6:30) brought my Chorley total to 69 a long way behind Gary! Also seen 2 Snipe, 1 Buzzard, 2 Yellowhammer, 2 Teal, 3 Coot, 1 Moorhen, 4 Tree Sparrow, 19 Meadow Pipits, 2 each of Redwing and Fieldfare. I also had a pair of Siskin in my garden on Thursday...

2 Oystercatchers were my first here this year ( Chorley list 65)
Also seen 24 Curlew, 21 Lapwing, 3 Goosander al males, 22 Mallard, 2 Shelduck, 9 Canada Geese, 2 Buzzard, 1 Sparrowhawk, 4 Tree Sparrows, 1 Tawny Owl, 4 Reed Bunting, 5 Redwings and 2 Yellowhammer.

A Little Owl was seen this morning (Chorley list 64) also 2 pair of Goosander, 16 Curlew, 19 Lapwing, 7 Teal, 18 Mallard, 3 Moorhen, 1 Coot (on nest), 4 Canada Geese, 10+ Meadow Pips, 2 Yellowhammer, 1 Kestrel and 4 Buzzards.

A Jack Snipe was the first I've seen this year (Chorley list 63), Also seen today 1 Tawny Owl, I could see 6 Curlew through a gap in a hedge but there could have been more hidden from view. 35+ Meadow Pipit, 20 Redwing, 3 Teal, 1 Buzzard, 1 Kestrel only 3 Cormorant seen today with 8 yesterday.
