Hi Peter, it's a bit late for Cow Parsley, the sturdy stems and tight umbels look like Hogweed to me.

Evening visit around Hempshaws / Simms / Old Rachels till dusk. Nice to meet up with Tom from Wigan RSPB and chat for a while amongst the midges! No raptors nor curlew, doesn't seem to have been great for the latter recently on moors, are they in more green fields this year? 3 Lapwing on territory. ...

Lapwing, (20+), Oystercatcher (5+), Curlew (5+) the highlights along with Whitethroat, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Mistle Thrush 6+ prob inc juvs. Lapwing seem to have resettled in the disturbed field, and Oystercatcher still on the barn roof.
