Leafcutter Bee

Poor quality photos taken with my phone in the quite strong winds today in my garden. By the time I had grabbed my camera, the bee had disappeared.
I think it is a female Patchwork Leafcutter Bee, hopefully someone can confirm or correct me.

Wildflower Road verges

If anyone knows somebody who works for Chorley council, it might be an idea to advise them when to plant the verges.
They are an absolute disaster this year.

Elephant Hawk Moth

A freshly emerged Elephant Hawk Moth was in my back yard tonight waiting for the darkness, so I moved it to a sheltered place before my resident Blackbirds spotted it.
I must be doing something right with my choice of insect friendly plants.
