The walk location has changed. Thursday 17th August, meet at 7.00pm prompt. All welcome. Park off Horrobin Lane, Rivington, turning on to the track by the Primary School BL6 7SE. Parasitic bee of Colletes succinctus -Heather Colletes-found Anglezarke today. Highly probable as only two species in the UK

Nice shots Tony -from my experience of workshops etc, even the experts of long standing will not go any further than genus -they require specimens to go to species. There are some exceptions but they prove the rule as they say.

Informed by Ben Hargreaves that there are new records at Grimsargh Reservoir and on the edge of the Pennines east of Burnley for this bee,so now definitely worth looking out for.

Tony -according to iRecord one record in Ribble Valley , August 2022, so a first for Chorley (at least first record) -great find.

You can try the NBN atlas - https://nbnatlas.org/ -type in a postcode for the search -but it is very much out of date and incomplete IMHO iRecord is better as at least records are verified by experts - https://irecord.org.uk/ -there is an app for recording as well as the website and well worth doing...
