Grasshopper warbler reeling at 4.45pm last night.

Friday 17/4 Sparrowhawk (f) sat in tree at the bottom of Foxglove Drive. Siskin on a neighbour's feeder. Saturday 18/4 Buzzard circling over Multipart. Mossfield

1 LRP (the first I've seen for more than a week), 1 oystercatcher, loads more meadow pipits than usual but strangely no skylarks, 3 linnets overhead and 2 curlews battling NE against the wind.

Sat 4/4 Forgot my binoculars but still saw 1 LRP flying around.
Sun 5/4 2 LRP in the usual place and 1 on the waste ground near the new houses.

I agree with the general opinion that the Collins is the most comprehensive field guide. It is worth noting that the new edition is due out in May. Therefore, it's probably worth waiting for either the new edition or the chance to pick up the old edition cheaply.
