Just for info the average first arrival date for Garden Warbler in Lancashire is 21st April. I think the Skelmersdale bird which Ian mentions was claimed as an Iberian Chiffchaff, which finishes its song with a rattle, but starts it just like our Chiffchaff. I don't know if it was accepted as Iberia...

Keith,

It's been a good winter for Bramblings this year, but I suppose they have started coming into gardens once their natural food supply - beechmast - was used up. Some winters we get very few records of Brambling, last winter being an example.
