Early am today pair of Gadwall on lake 14prs Canada's and at least 4pr heron on island. Pair of nuthatch plastering up an old woodpeckers hole in the pinetum. 3 further calling males heard during our walk.

One chiffchaff singing in the wood at rear of garden in last afternoon sunshine. Appeared to be ringed. All so in garden 11golfi 6 bulfi 5 siskin and m+f great spot. Single raven over garden

The pair of Mandarin have been on the lake for well over a week now either loafing by the island or over in the N.R corner. Last year the heronery held 6 active nests. And the max count of goosanders was 19 birds

Hi john the same question as I asked ian the other week about his sighting of willow tit did you notice if the bird in question was ringed or not. Several birds have been ringed in the area over the last couple of years cheers andy

Over the last two weeks the garden has been overrun with blabis on a very regular basis. Maximum count of 18 birds on the 8th. And on most days into double figures. Ian did you notice if the wilti you saw was ringed or not several birds have been ringed in an area just east of kem mill lodge over the last couple of years

Yesterday's session ringing at the feeding station was quite successful 33birds caught in two hours mostly titmice inc 5 Lotti's no wilti though also nutha f great spot. Chafi. Out and about locally early am 7ravens leaving a roost cuerden valley 12 goosander and 17 cormorants on lake. Numbers of jackdaws at cuerden fluctuate year on year but on average 2000 are in the roost during late autumn early winter
