Yesterday (thursday) produced a flood of siskins in the garden and wood to the rear of the garden with 65+ counted coming in to the feeders of these 65+ siskin 46 were caught and ringed thats 69 siskin caught and ringed in two ringing session in the garden each session lasting just one and half hour...

Today in the garden bullfinch 7 long tailed tits 9 greenfinch 2 goldfinch 10 siskin 16 and bbc 1 m blackcap 1 m brambling and 1 chiff chaff to windy for the mist nets so traps set instead only siskins bullfinch and nuthatch caught

Yesterday had a good walk along the leeds liverpool from cowling to adlington and back mallards numerous m mute swan near spring wood grey wag and kingfisher near fredricks siskins in trees near marley court biggest surprise however was 3 goosander 2f 1m on canal near to l and l narrowboat cruises ....

B.h.g wearing darvic ring seen at preston docks details as follows bto ring number EY02637 ringed at preston docks 17/12/12 re sighted at moore nr warrington 07/01/13. Then subsequently sighted at preston docks early spring jan/feb/mar and from aug/sept every year up to current sighting on 19/11/15 :D

Cracking photos especially the dipper. I notice the tern is ringed anyone fancy trying to get a close up photo to try and show the ring number to see if its one of the young from previous years at birkacre or one from elsewhere
