Approx 115 on Gale Moss this morning - numbers have steadily increased since early January - traditional pre-breeding flock location.

Not very exciting but approx 300 on Eaves Lane in a flock around St Peter's club - a good number for the area.

My first of the autumn - 100 heading east to west over Hartwood at 11.30 am - winter is on its way!

Friday 27 October, Willow Tit back on the garden feeders again - been absent since spring - also a Red Admiral in garden.

Not absolutely sure it was same species but had a very similar IW in the garden yesterday - should have got a photo!

Sadly, our cat is a killer! - she is small, slender, loving - and lightening quick! Think it is getting a bit late for Nightjars churring with any enthusiasm - but good luck. Historically myself and Ken Green used to go to Chat Moss in the 1970s to watch and listen to Nightjars.
