Croston Moss

This afternoon lots of pheasant, couple of Red-legged Partridge, Carrion Crows, Chaffinch, Goldfinch (30+) Woodpigeon, Wren, Blackbirds.

The highlight was 26 Whooper Swans just South of Sumner Lane towards the High Lane Crossing.

Out of area, a Merlin yesterday on Curlew Lane, Rufford.

12+ Sand Martins and a couple of swallows at the sand quarry off Lydiate Lane at SD555240.
Also a buzzard.

Croston garden

Birds seen in my garden today (while digging a pond) are :-

Chiffchaff, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Coal Tit, Long-tailed Tit, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, House Sparrow, Dunnock, Blackbird, Starling, Woodpigeon, Collared Dove.

Carrion Crow and lots of assorted gulls overhead.

E Shaped Pond - Croston

This afternoon-
15 Canada Geese, 2 Mute Swan, 10 Tufted Duck, 12 Coot, Moorhen, Mallard, Woodpigeon, Black-headed Gulls, Carrion Crow, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Blackbird, Long-tailed Tit, Lapwing and very close views of a Goldcrest.

Also a Buzzard from my front door in Croston.
