Called up to see if any pike around, Lots of House Martins/Swallows taking insects from the top of water. 100 plus.Excellent

Thats the one Gary, my uncle moved recently but if you went and asked at the house i bet they would show you in. From memory you can see the birds from inside the house, tell them i sent you :lol:

Hi Gary, I think they nest nearby,up until recently my uncle used to live in a house called Owl Barn on the main road just before the Anchor Pub.

I have always been lead to believe that Wigan & District Angling Association lease this reservoir, it used to be used as a holding/breeding area. People are not allowed to fish it, although i have seen people on there.Maybe you could contact them to see what is going to happen to it.If my memory...

Whilst out with my eldest son doing his training on his bike. A Weasel ran straight out in full view (right to left) on footpath near pond at Kem Mill.

Good Stuff Chris, Glad you seen it there, it has been spending quite a bit of time there of late from the amount of droppings on the floor. If Ruttle decides to fill the quarry this could make a suitable new home.

Mid Air Exchange (Peregrine)

Been wondering what the local falcons have been up to recently, as ive not seen them of late. I heard peregrine calling (young) then from nowhere adult came carrying prey, classic mid air exchange over Cuerden Valley Watkin Rd area. Witnessed by my eldest boy Finlay :D

Watermans Cottage.

Called up this afternoon, loads of damsels around also big red sedges,loads of fry in the margins. I walked up the bank and disturbed several jack pike. Time to get a rod licence i think.

Good Shot Chris, The male was on St Georges again this evening. He was sleeping whilst the bells were ringing(strange) mind you the young have probably worn him out?? they dont half make some noise too.
