A good selection of birds in the rain , 100 starling , 50 bh gulls , 1 lapwing , 2 pied wagtail , 2 grey wagtail , wren , robin , blackbird , chiffchaff , goldcrest , chaffinch , meadow pipit , green sandpiper , 3 gc grebes , several mallard , 10 redwing .

Just heard pink footed geese over Eccleston heading west during rain showers , then spotted around 20 birds moving over quite low .

Hunting Buzzard .

Witnessed a buzzard dropping onto prey from a low branch on the edge of charnock golf course , this is a typical lazy hunting technique for the buzzard but very effective also kestrel along chorley lane .
