Hi Len
A few years ago, there were a few Short Eared Owls overwintered not too far away, near the Rufford railway station car park.
Definitely worth keeping an eye open around there just in case.

We have had plenty over the last 10 days or so too, seems like the young are on the wing now with all the screeching.
