Three male chaffinch, Jay, Blackbird, Robin on Sunny Brow, Noticed there was an healthy looking Hogweed still in full flower on Sunny Brow. 8am - 10am
The two deer were seen behind the top lodge again, nearer to the new gate on the fish ladder path.

Still in flower - Red Clover, White Clover, Bramble, Creeping Thistle, Red Campion, Meadow & Creeping Buttercup, Herb Robert, Yarrow, Balsam and White Dead Nettle.

8am - Kingfisher in usual spot, Heron on the top lodge, two dippers near 2nd bridge.
Two roe deer behind the top lodge, where the stream runs in from Spring Wood.

Tree name

I went to the tree which was toppled in recent years by strong winds, it was an oak, the brown mushrooms were almost gone and the other of which there were many looked like miniature fried eggs but they were more mushroom shaped today, I took photos, hope this helps with the ID's.

Fungi tree

The tree was blown over a few years ago, trees in this part are mainly Sycamore, oak and ash. I will have a good look next time I pass it.

Found these two on the same toppled tree base, near Primrose Hill, along side the stream that leads into the Top Lodge. grid Ref SD574147. Nice find Nora, apparently there's a good show of them down south this year - they are quite common down there, we do get them up here as you have found - good one for the tick list.

Also been told the young shoots are nice in a salad.

Fish leaping on Fish ladder

I passed a few regulars this morning who told me the fish were leaping on the fish ladder, this was from the the new viewing platform, Yarrow Valley.
Did not see them myself.
