Neil !! You would not expect a former driving instructor to endorse travelling at 80mph AND then stopping on the hard shoulder would you? The bird had obviously missed junction 32 which is a much closer one to the maternity unit at Royal Preston Hospital

early morning 0530. Roe deer, blackbird, song thrush, Geat spotted woodpecker, chiffchaff, 3 bullfinch, great crested grebe on nest, whitethroat, goldfinch. sadly no willow warblers heard, even after 0700.
